Welcome to Hex’s Den

I bid thee welcome! You have discovered Hex’s den. My name is Hexaitos (but please just call me Hex). I am a non-binary, polytherian shapeshifter from Germany and I live in a mystical city that is rumoured not to exist (if you know, you know). I have lots of different forms! I also like light-heartedly calling myself Hex the Archivist, as I tend to keep records and files of everything that is important to me. On this website, you will be able to find writings about my hobbies and interests as well as art that I have commissioned.

And before you ask: yes, my name does indeed have a meaning! This has shocked some people before, but the -aitos (ἀετός) is just an uncommon transliteration of the Ancient Greek word for eagle and Hex- (ἕξ) is from hexadecimal (mostly as a reference to how I like computers and technology) and also just because I thought it sounded cool. About me

My interests are quite varied. I like working with computers (especially Unix-derived systems, currently on EndeavourOS and Fedora on my main PCs) and networks, playing (video) games, learning languages (I speak German, Swedish and English pretty well and know a good chunk of Ancient Greek), taking photos, reading, listening to rather obscure music, Pokémon and a bunch of other things, depending on what I am currently fixated on. I am also very interested in older things and can often be found reading old books (been reading a lot of German stuff from the Middle Ages as of late) or watching old shows! I, obviously, also really like birds with birds of prey being my favourite – but any bird is good. I also want to get into VR soon-ish. I am also a big fan of FOSS and self-hosting things. As my actual job, I make computers go brrr (well, sometimes at any rate). I currently work as as systems and network administrator at a small ISP.

If you want to get in touch, look at the contact page! You can find me on plenty of websites or just send me an email – I am always happy to talk to new people – or critters! I don’t usually bite. Unless you want me to >:3 My DMs are always open for anyone!

About my den

There are not yet all too many things to be discovered in my den, unfortunately. However, I have started writing a blog – with most posts on there being about technology so far – and also started writing about some of my experiences being a therian and will continue to add more such things to my den as time goes on! I will, most likely, also start adding some smaller blog posts about random language-related things or books I have been reading, my own translations of various texts and more – so be sure to check back from time to time!

I also have a page that contains a bunch of modern (and old!) 88x31 website buttons, go check it out here! It contains both general-purpose buttons and buttons for specific websites. I also love commissioning art and I urge you to check out the Pinacotheca – the art section of my den.

Just as my shape shifts frequently, the tech I use also shifts often! If you want to know more about the technology poweing this site and the technology I use in general, you can take a look at the tech section of this site. An icon showing the logo of OpenBSD

My den is a perpetual work-in-progress and it was last updated on the following day: 18 April 2026. You can view the changelog here. I also have a blog where I will be posting things mostly about computers, games and birds (who’d’ve thunk?). If you want to link to my website, you can use the the button below :3 And also a button for my own Pokédex called Theriodex!
